President Rashid Meets Saudi Ambassador to Discuss Regional Security Threat


Baghdad: President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid met with the Saudi Ambassador to Iraq, Abdul Aziz Al-Shammari, affirming that the terrorist organization poses a threat to the security and stability of the region. The meeting took place at the Baghdad Palace, where both parties discussed bilateral relations and ways to strengthen them in various fields.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the presidential statement highlighted President Rashid’s determination to continue confronting the ISIS terrorist organization to preserve the gains achieved. The President emphasized the threat posed by the terrorist organization to regional security and stability, underscoring the need for enhanced security and intelligence cooperation.



Furthermore, President Rashid stressed the importance of adopting dialogue, addressing the current crisis, and ensuring the protection of civilians. He highlighted the necessity of supporting efforts to achieve stability in Syria while preserving the rights of all its components and maintaining its territorial integrity.



In response, Saudi Ambassador Al-Shammari affirmed his country’s support for initiatives aimed at achieving security and stability in the region. The meeting also covered ongoing regional and international developments, particularly the latest situation in Syria.
