Baghdad: President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid emphasized that the disarmament of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) is crucial for establishing security and stability in the region.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement from the Presidency of the Republic highlighted that President Rashid met with Turkish Ambassador to Iraq, Anil Bora Inan, at the Baghdad Palace. During the meeting, the President underscored the significance of enhancing bilateral relations between Iraq and Turkey. He applauded the agreement between Turkey and the PKK concerning the party’s disarmament, describing it as a pivotal factor in achieving regional security and stability.
Ambassador Inan, in response, conveyed his gratitude and appreciation for President Rashid’s efforts in fostering coordination and cooperation. He noted that bilateral relations between the two nations are experiencing positive developments in various fields.
