Baghdad: The President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, has made a call for enhanced cooperation with countries worldwide to facilitate the extradition of wanted individuals and the recovery of Iraq’s funds held abroad. This statement was issued during a meeting at the Baghdad Palace with the Chairman of the Integrity Commission, Muhammad Ali Al-Lami.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, during the meeting, Rashid congratulated Al-Lami on his new assignment and emphasized the anticipation for the Integrity Commission to implement effective measures to safeguard public funds through legal and constitutional means. Rashid highlighted the importance of identifying the misuse of public funds as a critical national duty, necessitating a committed and decisive approach from all regulatory bodies, particularly the Integrity Commission. He advocated for the development of comprehensive national plans and programs involving all official and societal stakeholders to play an active role.

Furthermore, Pre
sident Rashid reiterated the need for strengthened international collaboration and coordination to extradite wanted persons and reclaim Iraq’s overseas assets. In response, Muhammad Al-Lami outlined the future plans and programs of the Commission, expressing gratitude for the President’s support in fostering transparency and the Commission’s mission. He underscored the necessity of the Presidency’s backing in combating corruption, retrieving Iraq’s funds, and safeguarding the nation’s wealth.
