Baghdad: The President of the Republic, Dr. Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, highlighted the importance of ongoing dialogue between the federal and Kurdistan Regional governments to address unresolved issues in alignment with the constitution and legal frameworks.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the statement came following a meeting between President Rashid and Ali Bapir, head of the Kurdistan Justice Group, along with his delegation. The discussions centered on national developments across various levels and emphasized the necessity for collaborative efforts to bolster security, stability, and service delivery to citizens.
The President reiterated the need for sustained dialogue between the federal government and the Kurdistan Region to tackle outstanding issues, ensuring solutions serve the interests of all citizens. He also underscored the significance of the upcoming parliamentary elections, stressing the importance of integrity and transparency to foster voter trust and encourage active participation in the democratic process. Measures have been initiated by the Presidency, in collaboration with the presidencies and the Independent High Electoral Commission, to ensure fair elections.
Ali Bapir, on his part, supported the President’s call for joint actions to resolve the ongoing issues between the federal and Kurdistan Regional governments.
