Prime Minister Aims to Transform Iraq into Economic Hub for Regional Interests


Baghdad: The government of Iraq is actively working to transform the nation into a central hub for the interconnected economic and developmental interests of the surrounding region, as stated by Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi. This strategic initiative aims to foster stability and cooperation among neighboring countries.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement from the Prime Minister’s media office disclosed that al-Zaidi held a meeting on Monday with Abdolnasser Hemmati, the Governor of the Central Bank of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The meeting was also attended by the Director of the Prime Minister’s Office, the Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq, several advisors, and the Iranian Ambassador to Iraq. The discussions focused on addressing the significant financial and monetary challenges currently impacting the region’s economies.



The Prime Minister underscored the government’s commitment to positioning Iraq as a platform for regional economic and developmental integration. This approach is seen as vital for securing and supporting efforts to consolidate regional stability and resolve ongoing conflicts.
