Baghdad: Iraqi Government Spokesperson Haider Al-Aboudi confirmed that Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi will visit France and Germany next week, leading a high-level official delegation. He noted that this European tour will feature discussions on economics, investment, trade, energy, industry, and technology, aiming to transform mutual understandings into actionable implementation paths and practical partnerships.
According to Iraqi News Agency, Al-Aboudi stated, “Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi is preparing to pay an official visit early next week to the French Republic and the Federal Republic of Germany, heading a high-level official delegation. This visit comes in response to two official invitations, reflecting a mutual commitment to developing Iraqi-European relations.”
He added, “The European tour includes high-level discussions on enhancing bilateral cooperation across economic, investment, trade, energy, industrial, technological, cultural, and educational sectors, as well as addressing political and security files and regional and international issues of mutual interest.”
Al-Aboudi continued, “Through this visit, Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi seeks to strengthen Baghdad’s relations with Paris and Berlin, advancing them toward higher levels of economic and developmental partnership. He also aims to open new horizons for French and German companies to contribute to projects and investment opportunities that embody the Iraqi government’s vision and program for diversifying the economy and developing productive and service sectors.” He explained that the visit aims to translate shared understandings into actionable implementation paths and practical partnerships that serve mutual interests and support Iraq’s drive to attract investment and specialized expertise in priority sectors.
He noted that the European tour aligns with the government’s approach of expanding international partnerships and building balanced foreign relations based on shared interests, while leveraging these ties to foster stability and development and to strengthen Iraq’s regional and international standing.
