Washington: The Iraqi News Agency (INA) reporter in Washington stated that Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi has received an invitation from Congress to visit. This invitation aligns with his ongoing official trip to the United States, which commenced on Monday.
According to Iraqi News Agency, the Prime Minister's Media Office announced that PM Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi embarked on this official visit leading a high-level delegation. The purpose of the visit, as invited by U.S. President Donald Trump, is to enhance relations between Iraq and the United States, focusing on strengthening economic and development partnerships. The visit also aims at attracting investment and increasing the involvement of U.S. companies in infrastructure projects within Iraq.
The agenda further includes discussions aimed at advancing the energy, oil, and gas sectors in Iraq. There are plans to boost national capabilities in the production of petroleum products and petrochemical industries, which will support the diversification of Iraq's national economy.
During his meetings with President Trump and various U.S. officials, along with representatives from the American business community, Prime Minister Al-Zaidi is expected to propose several strategic initiatives. These initiatives are designed to solidify the strategic partnership between Iraq and the United States, aligning with the mutual interests of both nations.
