Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi Urges US Companies to Invest in Iraq’s Energy Sector

Washington: Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi has renewed his call for American companies to contribute to the development of Iraq's energy sector. He also invited them to invest in mining and participate in the Energy City project located on the waterfront of the Faw Peninsula, along the development corridor.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Zaidi made these remarks during a meeting in Washington with the US Secretary of Energy. He stated, "The government has adopted an ambitious program to strengthen the Iraqi economy through long-term partnerships with major world economies, particularly the United States." Al-Zaidi emphasized the importance of technology and accelerated development to achieve these goals.

The US Secretary of Energy expressed his government's support for Iraq's development initiatives and noted that American companies have shown enthusiasm for engaging in Iraq. He also affirmed support for anti-corruption measures, the state's monopoly on the use of force, plans to expand investment in associated gas sectors, and the elimination of gas flaring.
