Baghdad: Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi emphasized the urgent need for a revolution in laws and legislation during a meeting with the head and members of the Parliamentary Legal Committee. He urged the development of a legislative system that aligns with developmental needs, stimulates the economy, strengthens the rule of law, and solidifies state institutions.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Zaidi highlighted the importance of adhering to constitutional and legal procedures in addressing national issues and legislative files. He stressed the need for approval of critical files and draft laws, including the Popular Mobilization Forces Law and the Development Fund Law, among others.

The head and members of the Legal Committee expressed their support for the government’s reform initiatives in legal matters. They also pledged to back efforts in combating corruption, implementing the government program, and advancing economic and development policies.
