Baghdad: Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi emphasized on Sunday the importance of establishing fruitful economic partnerships with Lebanon across various sectors.

According to Iraqi News Agency, the Prime Minister’s Media Office stated in a press release that Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi and Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam co-chaired talks between the two countries, which commenced in Baghdad on Sunday, with several ministers from both nations in attendance.

The discussions focused on strengthening bilateral relations in various economic, political, and security fields. They also explored prospects for developing the partnership between the two brotherly countries in a way that contributes to enhancing comprehensive and sustainable development and advancing the interests of the Iraqi and Lebanese peoples.

The statement highlighted the Prime Minister’s emphasis on the depth of the relationship between Iraq and Lebanon, the commitment to its development, and the importance of entering into fruitful economic partnerships across various development sectors.

Further, the statement noted the importance of joint coordination between the two countries to confront the challenges facing the region and to support bilateral cooperation aimed at strengthening regional stability, reducing tensions, and ending conflicts.
