Baghdad:The Chairman of the National Investment Commission (NIC), Adel Al-Yasiri, has announced that Prime Minister Ali Al-Zaidi will begin distributing land deeds under the “Watan” initiative to citizens at the start of 2027.

According to Iraqi News Agency, Al-Yasiri revealed that the Prime Minister has established a committee to develop integrated, modern cities covering an area of 10,000 dunums. This project has been assigned to an international consulting firm.

The Development Fund will be responsible for financing the infrastructure of these new urban areas. Al-Yasiri also mentioned that certain government ministries will be relocated to new facilities within these modern developments.

Additionally, Al-Yasiri stated that the “Generations Fund” will be transformed into an investment institution with substantial capital, with its profits directed toward major projects. He assured that the NIC has committed to ensuring the success of the project to provide one million residential land plots.
