Baghdad: Prime Minister Ali Al-Zaidi welcomed the completion of the unification of Peshmerga force formations, a move that strengthens national security and reinforces institutional operations.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, in a post on the X platform, Al-Zaidi stated: “We congratulate our people in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq and the heroes of the Peshmerga on the completion of the unification of their formations under the umbrella of the Ministry of Peshmerga Affairs-a step that enhances national security and solidifies institutional work.”

Al-Zaidi added: “Unifying security and military forces within constitutional and legal frameworks, and strengthening coordination among all branches and formations of the Iraqi Armed Forces, represents a significant step toward consolidating our national security and the unity of our defense decision-making.”
