Baghdad: The “Progress” bloc has expressed its appreciation for Al-Zaydi’s foreign initiatives, affirming its commitment to reforms and the state’s exclusive control over the use of force.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Progressive Parliamentary Bloc highlighted the necessity of maintaining government operations grounded in a vision that amplifies Iraq’s regional and international stature. This vision aims to cultivate economic and developmental partnerships that bolster Iraq’s paramount interests while paving the way for expansive growth and investment opportunities.

The bloc’s leader, MP Ahmed Mazhar al-Jubouri, extolled Prime Minister Ali al-Zubaidi for his proactive role in fortifying Iraq’s foreign relations. Al-Zubaidi’s recent visit to the United States and the strategic understandings and agreements reached there are seen as pivotal in bolstering the national economy and advancing the energy, investment, and infrastructure sectors. Al-Jubouri also praised subsequent international engagements, which are expected to further benefit Iraq and strengthen its global and regional presence.

In addition to foreign policy, Al-Jubouri applauded the government’s initiatives in administrative reform, which include reviewing past projects, addressing deficiencies, and activating legal measures to fight corruption. These steps are designed to enhance the effectiveness of state institutions, improve service delivery, and maximize the use of public resources.

Furthermore, the head of the bloc reiterated support for national efforts to consolidate weapons under state control, reinforcing state sovereignty. This includes empowering security and military institutions to fulfill their duties in line with constitutional and legal provisions, thereby ensuring Iraq’s security, stability, and enhancing the state’s authority and sovereignty.

The Progressive Bloc also reaffirmed its dedication to collaborating with the government in passing legislation that aids in the implementation of its agenda, supporting reforms beneficial to citizens, and exercising its oversight role. This commitment is aimed at ensuring performance transparency and ultimately establishing a robust and stable state capable of achieving development and meeting the aspirations of the Iraqi populace.
