Erbil: The Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) have affirmed the continuation of their discussions to complete the formation of the regional government.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the two parties met on Tuesday at the KDP Political Bureau headquarters in Pirmam, Erbil, to deliberate on practical steps for establishing the next government in the Kurdistan Region.

A statement released after the meeting highlighted that both parties discussed the necessary steps to move forward with the government formation, noting positive progress in their negotiations.

Both the KDP and the PUK have committed to holding further meetings in the upcoming days to finalize their dialogue and reach a conclusive agreement on the structure of the forthcoming government.
