Baghdad: National Security Advisor Qasim al-Aboudi confirmed that the European Union mission in Iraq is actively supporting the country's national strategies. Al-Aboudi met with Ralf Schroeder, head of the EU Advisory Mission in Iraq, to discuss the mission's work and explore avenues for enhanced cooperation.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting involved a comprehensive review of the EU mission's initiatives in Iraq. Discussions centered on strengthening collaboration to support the implementation of the National Security Strategy and the Security Sector Reform Committee. The dialogue also covered aspects of advisory cooperation and the exchange of expertise and information between the two entities.
Al-Aboudi highlighted the EU mission's backing of several critical national strategies, including the National Counter-Terrorism Strategy, the Crisis Management Strategy, and the National Counter-Violent Extremism Strategy. He also noted the mission's involvement in cultural heritage initiatives. Al-Aboudi expressed gratitude for the mission's support, particularly its collaboration with research and studies centers, the Joint Planning Center, and the Al-Nahrain Center for Strategic Studies, all of which are affiliated with the National Security Advisory.
Ralf Schroeder reiterated the EU mission's readiness to cooperate and provide advice to research and strategic studies centers that align with the objectives of Iraq's national security. This commitment underscores the shared goal of fostering a secure and stable environment in Iraq.
