Qatari Foreign Ministry Emphasizes Continued Diplomatic Efforts to Reduce Regional Tensions

Doha: Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesman Majid bin Mohammed Al-Ansari confirmed on Tuesday that diplomatic efforts are ongoing with various parties to de-escalate tensions in the region. He stressed that the current priority is containing the tension, reopening the Strait of Hormuz, and returning to the diplomatic track.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Ansari explained that "no agreement has yet been reached," emphasizing that "the focus is on resuming negotiations and creating the necessary conditions for their success."

Regarding the Gaza Strip, the spokesman reiterated Qatar's position calling on Israel to fulfill its commitments under the ceasefire agreement, noting that "mediators are continuing their efforts to expedite the implementation of the second phase of the agreement and end the war."

He added that "the success of the negotiations requires ensuring the continuation of the ceasefire and creating a suitable atmosphere," considering that "security aspects represent a fundamental element in implementing the Gaza agreement."
