Khartoum: The Rapid Support Forces in Sudan announced today, Thursday, their agreement to the humanitarian truce initiative proposed by the Quartet, which includes Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, and the United States. The initiative includes a three-month ceasefire and a dialogue leading to the formation of a civilian government within nine months.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Rapid Support Forces confirmed that their agreement aims to address the humanitarian consequences of the war, protect civilians, and expedite the delivery of urgent aid.

They explained that they look forward to implementing the agreement, discussing arrangements for the cessation of hostilities, and laying the foundations for a political process to achieve a comprehensive and just peace in Sudan.
