Baghdad: The Reconstruction and Development Bloc has urged the new parliamentary leadership to take decisive actions to revitalize the House of Representatives. The bloc emphasized the need to prioritize essential legislation and laws and to reinstate oversight mechanisms that have not been active in previous sessions.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, MP Bahaa al-Araji, during a joint press conference, affirmed the bloc’s commitment to the Iraqi people. Al-Araji stated that the members are determined to enact significant reform laws across all sectors. He also called upon the Kurdistan Alliance and the two Kurdish parties to reach a consensus on presenting a single candidate for the presidency, thereby fulfilling a critical constitutional requirement.

Al-Araji further urged the Coordinating Framework to engage in earnest negotiations for appointing a prime minister. He highlighted the importance of considering past experiences, especially the influence and achievements of the largest bloc, and recognizing the significant mandate given by the Iraqi electorate to this bloc.
