Baghdad: The Reconstruction and Development Coalition has issued a strong condemnation of the recent storming of the Al-Aqsa Mosque courtyards by Itamar Ben-Gvir, the Israeli Minister of National Security, accompanied by groups of settlers under the protection of occupation forces.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the coalition described the incident as a blatant violation of the historical and legal status quo and a clear breach of international law and United Nations resolutions. The political bureau of the coalition emphasized that such provocative actions against Al-Aqsa Mosque represent a dangerous escalation, threatening security and stability in the region, and called for urgent international action to halt these violations and protect Islamic holy sites.

The coalition’s political bureau further stressed that Jerusalem, including the Al-Aqsa Mosque, is an integral part of the occupied Palestinian territory. It declared that any measures aimed at altering its historical, legal, or demographic status are null and void, having no legal effect. The bureau urged the Islamic world, the international community, the United Nations, the Security Council, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and the League of Arab States to assume their responsibilities and take practical steps to stop these violations and provide protection for the Palestinian people and their holy sites.

The political bureau reiterated its full solidarity with the Palestinian people and expressed unwavering support for their legitimate rights, including their right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with international law.
