Wasit: Dozens of relatives of the victims of the al-Kut Hypermarket fire held a protest in front of the Wasit Federal Court of Appeal, calling on the Supreme Judicial Council to arrest the accused, expedite the investigation results, and hold accountable those involved in the alleged negligence that led to the tragedy.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Mahdi Wadi, a relative of one of the victims, expressed frustration over the authorities’ delay in issuing arrest warrants against those accused of negligence in the incident. He emphasized the urgency of the situation, stating that the families are demanding the results of the investigation, initiated by a committee formed by the Prime Minister’s Office, to be disclosed promptly.

Wadi further urged for the maximum penalties to be imposed on those found negligent in the al-Kut Hypermarket fire incident, reflecting the relatives’ growing impatience and demand for accountability.
