Remains of Iran-Iraq War Victims to be Exchanged at Shalamcheh Border Crossing


Basra: The Basra Operations Command has announced a significant event scheduled for tomorrow, where the remains of victims from the Iran-Iraq war of the 1980s will be exchanged between Iraq and Iran. This solemn ceremony is set to take place at the Shalamcheh border crossing at 8:00 AM.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the command’s media released a brief statement on Saturday confirming the exchange. This event marks a significant moment in the ongoing efforts to address the legacies of the conflict that occurred several decades ago. The exchange aims to provide closure for the families of the victims and facilitate the reconciliation process between the two nations.
