Kut: Streets were blocked and tires were burned in Kut in protest against the local government’s failure to fulfill its promises. Residents of the Al-Zanabra area (Al-Rahma neighborhood) in Kut, the capital of Wasit Governorate, took to the streets, blocking several roads and setting tires ablaze. This protest was driven by frustration over the local government’s inability to deliver on its promises to initiate a development project in their neighborhood.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, several protesters expressed their dissatisfaction, stating that they resorted to these drastic measures after the promised actions were not implemented. The residents are demanding that the local government expedite the project’s commencement and lay its foundation stone as initially promised.
