Beijing: Chinese President Xi Jinping vowed to annex Taiwan, asserting that “reunification is an unstoppable historical process.”

According to National Iraqi News Agency, in his 2026 New Year’s address in Beijing, Xi stated that “blood ties bind the people on both sides of the Taiwan Strait,” emphasizing adherence to the “one country, two systems” principle.

Beijing considers Taiwan part of Chinese territory and threatens to reclaim it “by force if necessary,” while the ruling Democratic Progressive Party on the island considers it an “independent state.”
