Moscow: Maria Zakharova, the official spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry, confirmed that the date for the third round of talks between Moscow and Washington has not yet been set, despite the continued existence of communication channels between the two sides.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Zakharova explained in statements broadcast by Russia Today that two rounds of consultations were held previously to discuss the causes of tension in bilateral relations, and a third round was scheduled, “but the American side postponed it.”

She added, “Naturally, the results were not complete or final, as many elements of the bilateral relationship were damaged during the terms of Democratic Presidents Barack Obama and Joe Biden.” She noted that some issues have been partially improved, but significant challenges remain to be addressed.

Zakharova continued that the dialogue is ongoing, both through the Russian Embassy in Washington and through the Russian Foreign Ministry, stressing that official diplomatic relations between the two countries have not been severed at any time.

The Russian spokeswoman criticized the policies pursued by the two previous US administrations, describing them as having “made the work of Russian diplomatic missions and media in the United States extremely difficult.”
