Moscow: The Russian Ministry of Defense announced today that its air defense systems successfully intercepted and destroyed 121 Ukrainian drones over Russian territory and the Sea of Azov last night. The interception operations occurred between 8:00 p.m. on August 9 and 6:10 a.m. on August 10.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the ministry provided details on the distribution of the drone interceptions. The drones were taken down in various regions including 29 over the Krasnodar Territory and 15 over the Republic of Crimea. Other regions affected were the Bryansk Region with 13 drones, Belgorod Region with 12, and Voronezh Region with 9 drones intercepted.

The report further detailed interceptions in additional areas including 8 drones each over the Saratov and Stavropol Regions, 7 over the Kaluga Region, and 6 over the Tula Region. Smaller numbers were intercepted in the Rostov Region with 5 drones, Ryazan Region with 4, and 2 over the Sea of Azov. Lastly, single drones were shot down over the Smolensk and Oryol Regions.

This announcement comes amidst ongoing tensions between Russia and Ukraine, highlighting the continued military engagements in the region.
