Moscow:The Russian Ministry of Defense has announced that it executed a large-scale strike on Ukraine’s energy facilities and port infrastructure, along with vessels allegedly used by Ukrainian forces.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the strikes were carried out overnight, targeting energy facilities in the Vinnytsia, Dnipropetrovsk, and Kharkiv regions. These facilities were identified as critical suppliers of electricity to Ukraine’s military-industrial complex and armed forces. Additionally, the strikes impacted port infrastructure in the Odesa region and military-utilized vessels.
The Ministry also reported that drone strikes led to the destruction of four locomotives in the Sumy, Kharkiv, and Dnipropetrovsk regions. These actions were described as retaliation against Ukrainian attacks on Russian civilians and infrastructure.
In a related development, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin disclosed that 493 drones were directed toward the Moscow region overnight. Most of these drones were shot down at outer defensive lines, with 187 intercepted as they neared the capital.
These events occur amid intensifying exchanges of strikes between Russia and Ukraine, particularly targeting energy facilities and vital infrastructure as winter approaches.
