Russian Ambassador Engages in Dialogue Forum with Iraqi Leaders

Baghdad: The Russian Ambassador to Iraq, Elbrus Kutrashev, took part in a dialogue forum organized by the Supreme Islamic Council of Iraq, where he made a notable statement, "We consider ourselves to be from the people of Baghdad."

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the forum was hosted by Sheikh Dr. Humam Hamoudi, President of the Supreme Islamic Council of Iraq. During the event, Ambassador Kutrashev expressed his appreciation to Sheikh Hamoudi and the attendees for the chance to engage in discussions on Iraq's pressing social, political, and economic issues.

The Ambassador highlighted the participation of Russian visitors from Derbent and the warm reception they received in Iraq. He also acknowledged the role of the media team from "Russia 1" in portraying a positive image of Iraq. Furthermore, Kutrashev praised the Iraqi efforts in the successful organization of the Arba'een pilgrimage, which saw millions of pilgrims participating.

The Ambassador spoke about the longstanding friendship between Russia and Iraq and emphasized Moscow's willingness to enhance these ties for the mutual benefit of both nations. He thanked Sheikh Hamoudi and the Supreme Council's team for their invitation and for facilitating this significant meeting, which aims to foster connections between the Iraqi people and the Russian Embassy staff.
