Belgorod: Russia’s Channel One announced the death of its war correspondent, Anna Prokofieva, while carrying out her professional duties. The cameraman was injured.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the channel’s press service added: “While carrying out her professional duties, Channel One war correspondent Anna Prokofieva was killed in the Belgorod region on the border with Ukraine as a result of a landmine explosion. Cameraman Dmitry Volkov, who was accompanying Anna, was injured.”
Prokofieva was 35 years old. She graduated from the Peoples’ Friendship University with a degree in journalism and was fluent in Spanish. She worked in the Spanish editorial office of Rossiya Sevodnya before joining Channel One in 2023, where she reported from the special military operation zone.
