Russian Defense Ministry Claims Targeting of Vessels in Odessa Port


Odessa: The Russian Ministry of Defense announced on Sunday that Russian armed forces targeted three dry cargo ships and two oil tankers in the port of Odessa, which were being used by the Ukrainian armed forces. The ministry stated that these vessels were utilized to transport military cargo, fuel, and oil for the Ukrainian forces, alongside fuel tanks and military equipment depots.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Russian Ministry of Defense emphasized that Russian forces continue to execute strikes against Ukrainian port infrastructure and naval vessels employed by the Ukrainian armed forces. In addition, Russian forces reportedly targeted a cargo ship in the Black Sea east of Odessa, which was involved in transporting Western weapons to Ukraine.



The ministry further explained in a statement, “In the waters of the Black Sea east of Odessa, a cargo ship transporting Western weapons to Ukraine was targeted.” This highlights the ongoing tensions and military engagements between the Russian and Ukrainian forces in the region.
