Russian Military Claims Destruction of Ukrainian Tanks Using Advanced Drones

MOSCOW: The Russian Ministry of Defense has reported the successful destruction of three Ukrainian tanks near the Russian border province of Kursk, utilizing new fiber-optic drones that are reportedly undetectable and impervious to electronic interference.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the ministry issued a statement through the Russian “Novosti” news agency, detailing that Russian reconnaissance forces identified and targeted the tanks using FPV drones equipped with fiber-optic technology. This new technology is claimed to bypass conventional electronic warfare systems. Among the tanks destroyed, one was reported to be manufactured by NATO countries, while the other two were Soviet-made.

The statement further elaborated on the locations of the tanks, indicating that one was positioned on a road, another in an agricultural field, and the third was concealed within a forested area. The use of such advanced drone technology marks a significant development in the ongoing military engagements in the region, raising questions about the evolving nature of warfare and the strategic advantages of technological innovations.
