Russian Military Intercepts 24 Ukrainian Drones Over Crimea and Black Sea


Moscow: The Russian military successfully intercepted and shot down 24 Ukrainian drones over Crimea and the Black Sea within a span of four hours. This announcement was made by the Russian Ministry of Defense, highlighting a significant engagement between the two nations’ military forces.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that air defense systems on duty were able to detect and intercept the drones within a tightly constrained timeframe. Between 1:00 PM and 5:00 PM Moscow time on Friday, Russian air defense early warning systems identified 24 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones. The air defense systems were able to destroy 14 drones over the Republic of Crimea and 10 over the Black Sea.



This incident underscores the ongoing military tensions between Russia and Ukraine, with air defense systems playing a crucial role in national security. The interception of these drones reflects the heightened state of alert and readiness maintained by the Russian military in response to perceived threats in the region.
