Safwan Port Congestion Resolved in Two Hours, Says Basra Governor

Basra: Basra Governor Asaad Abdul Amir Al-Eidani confirmed that the measures taken at Safwan port contributed to containing the congestion in just two hours. The governor explained that the sudden momentum witnessed by Safwan port was the result of converting the visa system from regular to electronic, coinciding with the spring break in some Gulf countries and the visit of Imam Al-Kadhim (peace be upon him).

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the governor made these remarks during his inspection of the workflow at Safwan border port with Kuwait. He stated that the rapid measures implemented helped manage the increased traffic efficiently within a short timeframe.

The governor acknowledged the efforts of the workers at the port, highlighting their dedication in serving visitors and ensuring the smooth flow of operations. Al-Eidani emphasized the commitment to providing top-notch services to guests of Iraq and visitors to the holy shrines, aiming to facilitate their procedures and ensure their comfort during their visits through the governorate’s ports.
