Baghdad: The head of the National Wisdom Movement, Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, emphasized the importance of supporting the entitlements of families of martyrs and the wounded, while enhancing investment in Anbar’s resources. He underscored the need to consolidate national unity and confront economic challenges.
According to Iraqi News Agency, Sayyid Al-Hakim made these statements during a press conference held in Anbar province. This visit was part of his tours of Iraqi provinces following the formation of the government, aimed at establishing direct communication with the populace and understanding their conditions and needs. Al-Hakim highlighted Anbar’s strategic importance due to its location linking Iraq with Jordan, Syria, and Saudi Arabia, which plays a significant role in regional social and economic integration.
Al-Hakim acknowledged the sacrifices made by Anbar in the fight against terrorism and called for attention to the families of martyrs. He urged the removal of obstacles hindering the completion of their files despite the economic challenges facing the country. The visit was characterized by meetings with local government, tribal sheikhs, elites, and civil society organizations, aiming to strengthen national brotherhood and address citizens’ concerns.
Al-Hakim stressed the importance of strengthening internal cohesion and regulating relations with regional and global countries to serve national interests. He noted that Iraq’s current economic conditions, exacerbated by declining oil export revenues, necessitate solidarity among Iraqis to ensure security, stability, and progress in development.
Anbar Governor Omar Mishaan al-Dabbous remarked on the honor of hosting Sayyid Al-Hakim’s third official visit, which involved discussions on social, service, security, and economic matters. The visit underscored attention to Anbar and other provinces, focusing on economic and security integration, project support, and leveraging Anbar’s geographical and resource potential.
Al-Dabbous highlighted the strategic location and resources of Anbar, such as gas, phosphate, and silica, as critical to supporting Iraq’s economy through optimal investment. He noted the need for exceptional support for development and resource investment.
The meeting also addressed files concerning martyrs, compensation, and missing persons, with Al-Hakim committing to follow up on these issues to provide justice for deserving groups. Anbar Provincial Council head, Hamid Daham Al-Alwani, welcomed Al-Hakim’s visit, emphasizing the positive impact of political leaders’ visits on addressing provincial issues.
Al-Alwani conveyed the suffering of martyrs’ families and the wounded to Al-Hakim, hoping for political efforts to resolve these issues and provide justice. The visit’s program included meetings with local government and social figures, aimed at strengthening national unity and serving provincial interests.
