Secretary-General of Ministry of Defense Explores Military Cooperation with Italian Official


Baghdad: Secretary-General of the Ministry of Defense, Lieutenant-General Shawan Mazhar Ali Rawandozi, engaged in discussions with the Italian military attach© focusing on military cooperation between Iraq and Italy.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the dialogue took place at the Ministry’s headquarters where Rawandozi hosted the Italian military official. The meeting concentrated on exploring avenues for joint military cooperation and shaping a future vision for collaboration between the Iraqi and Italian Ministries of Defense. Key areas of focus included training, armament, skills development, and the exchange of expertise aimed at enhancing the capabilities of the Iraqi army.



The Ministry of Defense’s statement highlighted Rawandozi’s positive reception of such diplomatic visits, emphasizing their role in strengthening bilateral relations and advancing mutual interests. The Italian military attach© expressed appreciation for the Office of the Secretary-General’s effective coordination with allied nations to address the comprehensive needs of the Iraqi army in terms of armament, equipment, and training.
