Basra: A security meeting was held in Basra Governorate to finalize security arrangements for the match between the Iraqi national team and the South Korean national team, which will be held at the Sports City Stadium on June 5. According to National Iraqi News Agency, Badr Nasser, head of the Basra Football Sub-Federation, stated that the meeting was attended by the commanders of operations and police, the head of the governorate's security committee, Badr Nasser, the directors of stadium security, the Sports City Security Directorate, and the Traffic Directorate, along with a number of representatives of security agencies. The discussions focused on security and organizational arrangements related to the match, ensuring the stadium is secure and that the entry and exit of fans is smooth and orderly, befitting the scale of the event and the importance of the expected public attendance. Nasser added that the meeting is part of a series of preparations aimed at ensuring the success of this major football eve nt and enhancing cooperation between security and organizational agencies to ensure everyone's safety. A Korean administrative delegation arrived in Basra yesterday evening to review logistical matters and preparations for the arrival of the South Korean national team delegation to Basra to meet the Iraqi national team on June 5th in the ninth round of the Asian Group B qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.
