Baghdad: The security plan for the Arbaeen pilgrimage was successfully implemented without any security or terrorist incidents, as announced by Lieutenant General Saad Maan, head of the Security Media Cell. The announcement came during a press conference where Maan confirmed that the objectives of the plan were achieved smoothly, ensuring the safety of the pilgrims traveling to the shrine of Imam Hussein.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Maan elaborated on the security measures, emphasizing that the plan was designed to prioritize the safety of the pilgrims and the security of the pilgrimage rituals. The strategy sought to avoid the militarization of society and instead focused on highlighting the organizational and service-oriented aspects of the security measures. Maan praised the efforts of the security forces, noting that more than 226,000 officers and personnel were involved in executing the plan effectively.

While the security plan ensured a peaceful pilgrimage, Maan reported 46 deaths due to traffic accidents during the event, including 12 foreign pilgrims. Despite these incidents, the overall execution of the security plan was considered a success in maintaining the safety and security of the Arbaeen pilgrimage.
