Baghdad: The Ministry of Interior announced today the implementation of a qualitative and rapid operation targeting a major international drug dealer in a region in southern Iraq. This operation was conducted in response to the blood of “our righteous martyrs who were martyred while performing their national duty yesterday.”
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the General Directorate for Combating Narcotics carried out the operation, leading to the seizure of approximately 40 kilograms of dangerous narcotics. The confiscated drugs included heroin, crystal meth, and quantities of Captagon pills.
The Ministry of Interior highlighted that this operation represents “one of the most important preemptive strikes against drug smuggling and trafficking gangs.” They noted that the duty is ongoing, with security forces continuing to surround several other suspects within the same network, preparing for their arrest and subsequent prosecution.
The Ministry reiterated its “determined commitment to confronting this scourge,” asserting that “the blood of the martyrs will not be in vain, and that our battle against drugs will continue until the land of Iraq is cleansed of its evils, to protect our youth and the future of our nation.”
