Shalamcheh: The Shalamcheh Border Crossing Directorate announced the seizure of half a kilogram of crystal methamphetamine from a foreign traveler attempting to smuggle it into the country.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Directorate’s Spokesperson, Alaa al-Qaisi, stated in a press release that the seizure was carried out based on information received from the Iraqi National Intelligence Service. The operation involved the Technical Division, in collaboration with the Anti-Narcotics Division and the K9 Unit, successfully preventing the smuggling attempt and confiscating the narcotics.

Alaa al-Qaisi further noted that a formal seizure report was prepared. The suspect, along with the seized substance, was handed over to the border crossing’s customs police station for legal proceedings.
