Baghdad: The Secretary-General of Asaib Ahl al-Haq, Sheikh Qais al-Khazali, has issued a call to action for Islamic, Arab, and international organizations to address the humanitarian crisis in Syria by taking immediate measures to stop the ongoing massacres and violations impacting the Syrian populace.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Khazali expressed profound sorrow and grief upon learning of a recent suicide bombing at the Imam Ali bin Abi Talib Mosque in Homs, Syria. The attack, which targeted worshippers during Friday prayers, resulted in numerous civilian casualties and injuries. Al-Khazali attributed the attack to extremist and criminal groups identifying themselves as Ansar Ahl al-Sunna and condemned the incident as a cowardly and barbaric act.
Al-Khazali underscored the importance of safeguarding the Syrian people, especially minorities, from the threats they face in their homes, places of worship, and schools. He reiterated his appeal for swift action from Islamic, Arab, and international bodies to prevent further massacres and violations that jeopardize the lives of Syrians and threaten regional stability.
