Baghdad: The Commander of the Fourth Border Region, representing Iraq, Major General Nawfal Hassan Fuad, received the Commander of the Border Region of Iran, Brigadier General Lotfali Pakbaz, representing Iran, at the thirteenth regular meeting held today, Tuesday, at the Command Headquarters.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a source in the Command stated in a statement: “During the meeting, many common security topics and issues related to border security between the two countries were discussed, as well as raising the level of coordination to fully control the border and prevent infiltration and smuggling operations.”

The meeting resulted in the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the two countries to exchange information and address obstacles to work towards achieving the highest levels of cooperation in border control between the two neighboring countries.
