Baghdad: The heads of six Arab football federations have declared their full support for FIFA President Gianni Infantino, as he faces increasing scrutiny and criticism regarding his policies and management strategies for the world’s premier football tournament.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the federations of Qatar, Egypt, Morocco, Mauritania, Lebanon, and Sudan have publicly aligned themselves with Infantino, showcasing their commitment to his leadership of FIFA. This backing comes at a crucial time as Infantino deals with backlash over his aborted proposal to sell stakes related to the World Cup to private investors.

In a joint statement released on Thursday, the presidents of the six Arab federations expressed unequivocal support for Infantino. They stated, “We express our full support for Mr. Gianni Infantino, President of FIFA, and reaffirm our confidence in his leadership and his continued commitment to developing football worldwide.”
