Baghdad: The State of Law Coalition has declared that the ongoing anti-corruption campaign is a legitimate, legal, and essential national demand. In a recent meeting led by Nouri al-Maliki, head of the coalition, members of the coalition's parliamentary bloc gathered to discuss political and parliamentary developments, focusing on priorities for the upcoming phase.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the coalition emphasized the importance of consolidating the efforts of the Council of Representatives to enhance its legislative and oversight capacities. This initiative aims to support the reform process and fortify institutional operations. The coalition underscored the urgency of completing the cabinet based on competence and merit criteria, which would bolster the government's capacity to execute its program effectively.

The coalition members reiterated their backing for the government's anti-corruption drive, highlighting it as a legitimate, legal, and national demand. They assured that the forces within the Coordination Framework are fully committed to supporting these efforts. In addition to the anti-corruption campaign, the meeting also tackled the issue of weapon restrictions. The coalition emphasized the necessity of enforcing measures to strengthen state authority by limiting weapon use to official security bodies, which is crucial for maintaining security, stability, and social peace.
