Musero: Students from Eindhoven University of Technology in the Netherlands have pioneered a groundbreaking trial by testing the world’s first solar-powered ambulance in Kenya. This innovative vehicle aims to revolutionize how medical services are delivered in remote areas by relying on renewable energy.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the solar-powered ambulance embarked on an extensive 800-kilometer journey across Kenya, demonstrating its capability to transport essential medical equipment. The trip included a challenging route to a health clinic in Musero, located in the Narok region, where the ambulance navigated a potholed dirt road to reach its destination.

The ambulance is equipped with vital medical tools such as an X-ray machine, an ultrasound machine, and a refrigerator for vaccine storage. To ensure a continuous power supply, the ambulance is fitted with solar panels on its roof that generate electricity. Additional panels can be extended when the vehicle is stationary, allowing for increased energy generation to support its operations.
