BAGHDAD: The Ministry of Interior has announced the arrest of an individual suspected of forging official transactions and seals in Baghdad, highlighting ongoing efforts to combat document fraud in the capital.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the arrest was carried out by detachments from the Intelligence Agency specializing in anti-terrorism operations in Baghdad’s Rusafa district. The agency had received information about the suspect’s activities, allegedly involving the forgery of government and official institution documents and seals. Acting on this intelligence, a specialized team was formed to apprehend the suspect.

The ministry’s statement detailed that judicial approvals were obtained to conduct a raid on the suspect’s residence. During the operation, the suspect was caught in the act of forging documents. Authorities also seized the tools used in the operation, including computers and color printers, which were allegedly used to facilitate the forgery.

e appropriate judicial authorities to face legal proceedings. The Ministry of Interior emphasized the importance of addressing such crimes to maintain the integrity of official documents and institutions.
