Suyana Bloc Engages with U.S. Diplomat on Diversity Management in Iraq


Baghdad: The Christian parliamentary Suyana Bloc engaged in discussions with U.S. Embassy Charg© d’Affaires Joshua Harris on diversity management and political issues in Iraq.



According to Iraqi News Agency, the Suyana Bloc issued a statement revealing that a delegation met with Joshua Harris to deliberate on political and national matters concerning the rights of Iraq’s communities and the country’s political process. The delegation comprised bloc head Kaldo Ramzi Oghanna, along with Members of Parliament Imad Youkhana Yaqo and Sami Oushana.



The discussions focused on the situation and rights of the Christian community in Iraq. There was an emphasis on respecting the Christian community’s electoral entitlement and ensuring fair representation in state institutions, reflecting election outcomes and voter intentions.



Further talks covered the efforts to finalize the formation of the new government led by Ali Falih Al-Zaidi. There was a noted importance on supporting the government’s reform agenda alongside initiatives to bolster security and drive economic development, aimed at achieving political stability for all Iraqis.



Both parties stressed the significance of advancing Iraqi-U.S. relations and endorsing pluralism and coexistence. This approach aims to reinforce the presence of Iraq’s indigenous communities while safeguarding their rights and national contributions.
