Baghdad: Twenty-eight people were injured, including two in critical condition and four women, in a large fire that broke out at a fuel station in Al-Bab area, east of Aleppo, Syria, last night, Tuesday. The Civil Defense stated that four members of its firefighting teams were also injured due to shortness of breath and exhaustion caused by the thick smoke and high temperatures.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Civil Defense stated that the fire lasted for three hours, and seven firefighting teams participated in extinguishing it. Four ambulances also provided first aid and treated 16 injured people, most of whom suffered from shortness of breath.
The Civil Defense indicated that the cause of the fire was an electrical short circuit during the fuel transfer process, resulting in significant material losses to the fuel station, homes, and nearby warehouses.
