Syrian MoD Announces the End of the Military Operation in the Coastal Region


Damascus: The Syrian Ministry of Defense announced today, Monday, the end of military operations in the coastal region. The spokesman for the Ministry of Defense, Colonel Hassan Abdul Ghani, stated that the objectives set for the second phase of operations have been successfully achieved by Syrian forces.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, Abdul Ghani emphasized that the Syrian military was able to counter the attacks from the remnants of the defunct regime, dismantling their surprise tactics and securing vital areas. The operations ensured the safety of public roads that were previously used by the remnants to target civilians.



Abdul Ghani further mentioned that security services will enter a new phase aimed at maintaining stability and security. He noted that plans have been put in place to continue combating the remnants of the defunct regime, prevent the formation of criminal cells, and investigate recent events to ensure justice.



Additionally, Russia and the United States have called for closed consultations with the UN Security Council regarding the situation in Syria, with these discussions expected to occur on Monday.
