Texas: Media outlets reported that the US state of Texas has become the first testing ground for electric flying taxis. A federal program to test electric, hybrid, and autonomous flying vehicles has launched in Texas, and under this program, the American companies Joby, Beta, and Wisk will conduct the first official test flights of their flying taxis, according to The Verge.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) had selected eight projects earlier this year to conduct tests of its new electric, hybrid, and autonomous vehicles. The first of these tests began in Texas with the participation of three vehicle developers: Joby, Beta, and Wisk.

The companies will work for a week testing routes connecting local cities and airports in Texas, including Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport. The initial test flights will be conducted without passengers.

Texas has become the first of eight states to launch these tests. New York, Utah, Pennsylvania, Louisiana, Florida, North Carolina, and New Mexico will later join the program.

The launch of these airborne transportation services aims to alleviate pressure on highways in major US cities. However, technical limitations related to electric batteries, difficulties with sensors, and legal disputes between key market players continue to hinder the widespread adoption of these advanced technologies.
