Umm qasr: The General Company for Foodstuff Trading at the Ministry of Trade announced the arrival of the ship YASA KAPTAN ERBIL to territorial waters, carrying 41,389 tons of Thai rice allocated for the food basket items, in preparation for distribution to agents.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the company’s General Manager, Lama Al-Moussawi, stated that laboratory inspection teams at Umm Qasr Port have begun withdrawing standard samples from the shipment. This process is conducted in coordination with the Quality Control Department to subject the samples to physical examinations. The samples will then be sent to the central laboratory for necessary chemical and biological tests to ensure their compliance with standard specifications and suitability for human consumption.
Al-Moussawi also confirmed that the distribution process will be executed following a marketing plan developed by the company’s marketing department. This plan aims to ensure that the rice reaches citizens as part of the food basket items efficiently.
