The FM And The British Ambassador Discuss The Seriousness Of The Current Situation In The Region


Baghdad: Iraq’s Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fuad Hussein, met with British Ambassador to Iraq Irfan Siddiq to discuss the seriousness of the current regional situation and its potential repercussions on regional security and stability.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting reaffirmed the United Kingdom’s support for Iraq across various fields, particularly in strengthening security and stability. Both sides also reviewed ongoing regional developments and their possible impact on regional peace and security.



The talks further addressed the implications of the assassination of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, along with several Iranian officials, and the potential effects on Iran’s domestic landscape and regional power balances.



The two sides also discussed the risks of the conflict expanding to include Gulf states and the possible negative consequences for regional security and global economic stability.



Both parties stressed the necessity of halting military operations and prioritizing dialogue and de-escalation efforts in order to contain the crisis and prevent further deterioration.
